Sevilla wedding day timeline
Sample structure for a Sevilla wedding.
Morning (10am to 1pm) is getting ready at the hotel or Airbnb. Slower pace than Costa del Sol weddings. Early afternoon (1 to 3pm) is lunch or a light meal while guests arrive and settle. The ceremony runs late afternoon (5 to 7pm) when temperatures drop and the light peaks.
Portraits (7 to 8pm) happen at photo locations during golden hour. Plaza de Espana or Barrio Santa Cruz depending on your route. Cocktail hour (8 to 9pm) is aperitivo with sherry and tapas, a Sevilla specialty. Dinner (9 to 11pm) is long, communal, food-focused, multiple courses.
Reception (11pm to 3am) is music, dancing, more food. Sevilla weddings run late. For summer weddings, shift everything one to two hours later to avoid heat.
Working with Sevilla vendors
Bilingual English and Spanish vendors are common but not universal. Check specifically for what you need.
Most established Sevilla wedding photographers speak English. Florists vary, so ask directly. Hair and makeup artists usually speak enough English to work with foreign brides, but bring reference photos regardless.
English-speaking celebrants are available but book ahead. Larger venues speak English. Smaller family-run venues may not. For foreign couples, hiring a bilingual Sevilla wedding planner solves 90% of communication issues.
Sevilla vs Costa del Sol for weddings
If you’re deciding between Sevilla and the Costa del Sol, honest comparison below.
Sevilla wins on historic architecture, food culture, cheaper vendors, fewer tourists, and cultural depth. Costa del Sol wins on beach access, milder summer weather, easier flight access via Malaga airport, a bigger international vendor pool, and better English-speaking infrastructure.
Neither is universally better. Depends on what you want the day to feel like. For couples specifically comparing Spanish destinations, my breakdown of why couples keep choosing the Costa del Sol is a useful next read.
Historic venue permits (the real rules)
Sevilla has strict rules on photography at historic sites. Not all of it is enforced, but the paperwork exists.
Free-to-shoot public spaces include street exteriors, public plazas, Maria Luisa Park general areas, and bridges and riverbank. Requires-permit-or-fee spaces include Alcazar interior and gardens, Catedral interior, Casa de Pilatos, and Palacio de las Duenas.
Advance-booking spaces cover ceremony rentals at historic properties and formal photography sessions at monuments. Discuss with your photographer which locations you want and budget for permit fees where applicable. This is one place a local photographer saves you real money.
Combining Sevilla with other Andalucia locations
Many couples pair Sevilla with a second location for a multi-day wedding trip.
Sevilla plus Ronda (2 to 3 days) gives you an urban historic day plus a cliff and mountain day. Beautiful contrast. Sevilla plus Malaga coast (3 to 4 days) is historic city plus beach day. Wide variety, easy logistics.
Sevilla plus Cadiz (2 to 3 days) pairs old Sevilla with the oldest Spanish port city plus beaches. Sevilla plus Granada (3 to 4 days) gives you two of Spain’s most photogenic cities in one trip.

Cost structure for Sevilla wedding photography
Realistic numbers for Sevilla wedding photography in 2026 and 2027.
An established Sevilla wedding photographer runs €1,600 to €2,800 for full-day coverage, and up to €3,200 to €5,500 for weekend coverage. Emerging Sevilla photographers land €800 to €1,600. A Costa del Sol photographer traveling to Sevilla will typically match established Sevilla pricing plus €200 to €500 travel.
Common add-ons: second shooter €400 to €900, drone (limited use in historic centre) €150 to €400, album €350 to €1,200, engagement session in Sevilla €300 to €700, pre-wedding shoot €300 to €700.
Historic venue permit fees stack on top: Alcazar wedding permits €500 to €2,000+, historic monument photography permits €100 to €500, municipal permits for public plaza ceremonies €50 to €300.
Full Sevilla destination wedding photography lands €2,000 to €5,500. Priced similarly to Costa del Sol, with a slight premium for historic centre expertise.
